This is quite notorious of them, I normally do a through research before any travel, however I still fall into this sometimes due to the lack of concrete information on the Internet.

That’s why I always use the map feature on booking com and other sites – not to let any “hotel-in-not-so-central” location trick me ;) And I can’t count how many times I was in a hotel with free wifi only in the lobby… so annoying. I end up working or checking my social media in a nearby coffee shop while eating breakfast. I hope free and working wifi will become a standard everywhere soon enough!

Yeah, I have noticed that the hotels around Boston do it more than in many other cities. Providence does it too. It’s just annoying!

The hotels near Boston are notorious for claiming they are in Boston. One we stayed at for a conference was nearly an hour away, but it’s listed as Coco Keys Boston North Shore. It’s also a horrible dump.
