My, Amazon Has A Sick Sense of Humor

Amazon has a sick sense of humor. I’m sure the folks at their distribution warehouse read this blog. They know how excited I am about my new digital SLR camera. So why split my order up into three separate shipments?

Today, I received package one of three – the lens. Just the lens. And as clear proof of my infinite maturity, I held it up to my eye and proceeded to chase K around the house as Camera Man, making shutter-clicking sounds in a strange display of photographic pantomime. The memory card is slated to arrive in the next few days, also before the actual camera. At which point, I’ll again chase her around the house with the lens, while also holding the memory card against the side of my head.

Note to Amazon: I will continue to chase my frightened girlfriend around the house as a camera and blog about it every day – calling out of work if I have to – in a blatant mockery of your shipping process (and myself) until my camera arrives. You’ve been warned.

Having grown up in the internet era, I demand same day shipping. I don’t mean I want my order shipped the same day – I mean I want it to arrive in my hands the same day I pay for it. I can’t wait for 3D printers! Not only will I be able to print my order confirmation, but I’ll be able to print out the damn camera itself!

  1. That happened to us when we ordered our Wii from BigElectronicsStore.com. We got the Zelda game and the extra controller in one package, then had to wait another five days for the actual console. So frustrating!
